Meet The Team

About Me

Stephen Rethabile Morake

Executive Director

Stephen has travelled widely in Southern Africa, he toured much of Europe and has never in his life settled in one place for longer than a year. He currently resides in South Africa, works in Lesotho and spends most of his time accompanying tourists across the region.

Last Journey

Scouting Mangaung cultural festival

Mangaung

Scouting Mangaung cultural festival for little known parallel cultural activities and hidden accommodation spots. This festival has remained in the peripheral vision for decades, we don’t want to mainstream the experience, we want to niche it for seasoned event tourists.

About Me

Joseph Calvin Thaba

Executive Director

Thaba is your seasoned travel guide who early in his career got bitten by the travel bug. He has lived for several years in the southern and central countries of our SADC region. Visiting Europe and the Americas opened up new worlds to this passionate hiker. He currently lives in Lesotho and would love to see more people visit Lesotho.

Last Journey

Ponta do Ouro

Mozambique

Another memorable Leseli Tours family extreme quadbiking event. Riding across the border from South Africa into Mozambique and convoying all the way through the sandy roads was a perfect welcome into one of the most sought out travellers’ destination in this region. Setting the tone for a week of quardbiking, swimming, partying at the beach, and generally lazing around as people in coastal towns are prone to be.

Favourite Places

The Kingdom of Lesotho highlands

The Kingdom of Lesotho

Even on a normal work day, those mountains never cease to amaze me. They beckon on me every other time my eyes happen to look towards the east where the over 3000ft above see level giant mountains always loom invitingly.

Fishing escapade into the mountains

Looks like the end of the year trout fishing escapade into the mountains is my next destination. At the end of a very eventful year, this annual extremely luxurious and sweetly romantic package, favoured by the busy executives, doesn’t only relax and recharge our clients; it recharges us the guides too!

Best travelling experience

About seven years ago I set out with three Danish friends into the mountains to plot a route for future hikes. The memory of that three day hike remain with me to date. I believe the best way to see Lesotho is by literally walking it. It can be a very slow and hard trek up and down those massive mountains, but after all the dried lips, burned skin and aching muscles, a hiker will always hear the call of the mountains each time they come into direct vision. In this age of faster travel modes, it is all I can do not to shout, "everybody out, get your gear and we walk for the rest of the trip!"

Ao cheeheeee!
